To kick start the learning this term we welcomed parents from all classes to join us on Monday 17th September for an opportunity to experience the curriculum that we have to offer at Leiston Primary School. The day saw weather reports, finding out about Polar Bears and sparkly playdough to mention just a few! The activities linked to our work on reading and our use of the Power of Reading development programme from the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education.
The day was a huge success with many parents able to attend. Thank you to all of those who were able to come along and share this opportunity with their child. Here are some quotes from some of the parents who came along:
"Absolutely brilliant afternoon, didn't want to leave...it was brilliant and brought back a few forgotten memories."
"Thank you for a lovely session, was great to see what the children get up to in class. Can't wait for next time!'
"Great activities. Lots of encouragement for both parents and children. Great was to start to understand the structure of a story."
"Another lovely, well set up and structured session. Vibrant environment!! The children are always engaged and happy, well done!"
