Starting School at Leiston Primary

At Leiston Primary School we understand that transition into school is a big milestone in your child's life. As part of our transition package we plan a mixture of stay and play sessions, parents meeting and transition days.  We believe that although change is a normal part of life and offers many opportunities for children to develop resilience, it is important to manage change with sensitivity.  It is our aim that our transition package will children and their parents an opportunity to build familiarity with our school and begin to develop relationships with our Reception Team.  Those children who have been attended our Nursery at Leiston Primary will already be familiar with the Reception staff and environments as we plan for opportunities for the Nursery children to have regular visits to the Reception classes throughout the summer term.
