Sea Lions - Mr Burch

Welcome to Class 8 Sea Lions

Panthers class is taught by Mr Burch and assisted by Mrs Rouse.

We have been working hard to create an exciting and interesting curriculum for this year which will engage and motivate you in your learning! You can find an overview of our topics across the year in the document below.

Curriculum Overview

Useful information:

P.E.

P.E. will be taught every Tuesday and Friday.
Please send your child into school wearing their P.E. kit on these days.

Reading

We expect children to read for at least 5 minutes every day – either with an adult or independently.

  • Reading records will be checked regularly in school.

  • Children who read consistently will be rewarded!

  • Daily reading helps build fluency, confidence, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Please make sure your child brings their reading book and reading record into school every day.

Homework

  • Weekly spelling and maths homework will be sent home every Friday and collected on the following Thursday.

  • Spellings will not be formally tested, but children will use them in class writing so teachers can assess progress.

  • Please encourage your child to log in to Numbots and Times Tables Rockstars to practise their maths skills.

Personal Belongings, Clothing & Water Bottles

  • Please ensure all belongings (uniform, shoes, water bottles, bags) are clearly named so lost items can be returned quickly.

  • This helps children become more independent and responsible.

  • Children should only bring water to school in their bottles.
