Year 4 Long Term Plan

Key Information:

PE: Please can the children come to school in their PE kits in on a Friday. Seahorses will also be swimming on a Tuesday morning.

Reading: Please read at least 3 times a week and ensure your reading record is signed. A positive attitude to and consistently reading at home will be rewarded with house points and additional rewards in class. For those not reading regularly home, opportunities will be provided for them to practise this vital skill in school.

Homework: Weekly homework will be set on a Friday, in addition to the regular reading practise. There will be a maths and spelling task, as well as an expectation that your child will practise their times tables in preparation for their multiplication check in the Summer term. Homework will be due in on a Wednesday.

Useful websites to support home learning:

The virtual worry box for children

We have a worry monster in class; Bob, and another in the corridor. You can also share your worries with an adult in school, or by sending an email to our virtual worry box to let us know who you would like to talk to.

We cannot promise to keep information secret but we can promise to always work to ensure the right support is available - please see our Children's Safeguarding Policy.

Children can talk to us about worries they might have including:

  • Things that have happened to them or someone else.
  • Not knowing where to go when feeling scared.
  • Missing school.
  • What will happen in the future.
  • Coping with mental health.

Children can also contact Childline from 7:30am-3:30am every day, either online, by calling 0800 1111 or by sending a message from their website.
