• Spring Term Love to Learn

  On Thursday 19th January we hosted our Spring term Love to Learn event, the focus for this event was Maths.  It was a great event and many parents enjoyed learning about arrays, number bonds to name but a few!

• EYFS Theatre Visit

  Nursery and Reception enjoyed a joint visit to The Corn Exchange Theatre in Ipswich, where they watched Dear Santa. It was a brilliant show that truly captivated them! It was an absolute pleasure to take the children and it was fantastic to see them listening so intently as well as joining in with the singing. A massive thank you to all the adults who made this visit possible.

   

  

• Absolute Rockstars!

  Last week Key Stage 2 took part in a national Timetable Rockstars competition and we were the highest scoring Avocet school! Lily, Osman and Joshua were the three top scoring players across the school! Huge congratulations to them and to everyone who took part.

  

• Tea Toast and Tips

  On Monday 21st November we held our first Tea Toast and Tips since before the pandemic.  The focus for this was providing support and strategies for reading.  We were lucky enough to have books donated to us which were available to take home and even our local librarian was there to help with signing children up to the local library.

  Are you looking for healthy snacks? Look no further! On our journey to the My Smile accreditation Year 1 and Reception will be exploring how to keep our teeth healthy. A big part of this will be investigating healthy snacks to eat. 

   

   

  

• Year 6 Football Success!

  On Thursday 9th November ten Year 6 pupils represented the school in a seven a side football tournament at Alde Valley. They were up against 5 other school teams from the local area. Not only did they win 3 of their matches and drew the other 2, they did not concede a single goal in the entire tournament! They landed a brilliant second place and we could not be more proud of them. They showed incredible co-operation and determination throughout the entire tournament and their teamwork skills were impeccable. A big well done to Alexis, Isla, Theo, Ollie, Freddie, Oscar, Charlie, Cody, Caiden and Mason!

• Nursery's trip to the theatre!

  On Thursday the Nursery class visited Ipswich Regent to watch Peppa Pig Live at the theatre.  Everyone had a great day and the children enjoyed the bus ride and watching the show.  What a fantastic experience for our youngest children in the school.

• 2022 New House point system

  A brand new school year and we have introduced a new house point system for the whole school.  

   

  Children have been sorted into 4 houses - 

  Britten

  Garrett

  Minsmere

  Wolsey

   

  Children will be rewarded with house points and points will be collected each week and then shared in the celebration assembly on a Friday.  

   

  We are looking forward to seeing who is the winning team each week!
