• Tigers Class visit Charles Miller Court

  On World Book Day, Tiger Class were inspired by the book 'The Invisible' and created beautiful works of art.  Last week they visited the residents at Charles Miller Court to share their gestures of kindness. Children and residents alike had a great afternoon together and we're looking forward to inviting some of the residents back to see us.

  

• Celebrating the Queen's Juiblee

  We were honoured to be asked by the Town Council, to plant a tree in our name, in order to mark the Queen's Jubilee. Our wonderful representatives were elected by their friends to plant this beautiful Evergreen Oak with Mrs Geater and Mrs Chadwick. They were a credit to our school and we are very proud to be given this privilege. Thank you to Leiston Town Council.

  

• Blue and Yellow Day

  Have you seen our wonderful display of sunflowers in the window of the school hall?

  Thank you to everyone who supported our 'Blue and Yellow day' we raised a grand total of £328.04p to send to the DEC Humanitarian fund.  Well done team Leiston!

  

• British Science Week

  This week we celebrate British Science Week.  Children were invited to wear lab coats for the week and took part in many different scientific experiments in class.  Year 6 also visited Sizewell for the day to explore electricity.

• Book Fair News!

  Drumroll please...

   

  The book fair raised an incredible £1698.20, which mean a £958.92 commission for school! This coupled with £857 raised by the sponsored read means that we have a total of £1815.92 to spend on books for our revised 'Reading Diet'.

• The Big Dig

  On Tuesday 7th December the school were invited to help plant hundreds of trees in the Community orchard in Leiston.  Although it was a very wet and windy day the children had great fun and really enjoyed contributing to the local community!

• Christmas Story Event

  On Wednesday 8th December we held a Christmas story telling event after school.  The children were invited to stay after school to enjoy Christmas stories, festive snacks and some Christmas games!  The event was very popular and the children had lots of fun!

  

• Leiston Rocks!

  On Monday 29th November we celebrated the launch of our Times Tables Rock stars.  The children (and staff) had a great day dressing up as a rock star and competing against each other on times tables.  This programme is aimed at practising times tables at school and at home.

• Y5 and 6 Girls in the County Finals!!

  The year 5 and 6 girls football team are in the County Finals! Congratulations to all of the girls involved in the team.  Watch this space to see how they get on in the finals in a couple of weeks!  Good luck girls!

• The library is OPEN!!

  Thursday 21st October saw the grand opening of our brand new library.  Mrs Geater was joined by Mrs Cassie (Chair of LAB), Gayla (Suffolk Libraries) and Suzy, Lucy and Adam stars from the West End to mark the occasion.  The school library has been in development for the past 12 months and is now an amazing and inspiring area to learn.  Our children got to spend the day with the West End stars taking part in workshops focussing on story telling, singing and acting.
